About Us

Mountain View Personal Care Home was established in 1882 as the "poor farm" and "alms house" for DeKalb County's elderly indigent population. It is the last free-standing, post-Civil War facility owned by a county government in the State of Georgia.

Mountain View Personal Care Home, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity. It has made a significant contribution to the welfare of the indigent elderly throughout the local community, surrounding area, and State of Georgia, raising the quality of life for those people who might otherwise have been denied the benefits of such care.
